Current Research
I am a medical physicist experienced on different imaging modalities, such as MRI, CT, and ultrasound. I recently joined to Promaxo Inc. as a senior clinical researcher. Our state of the art prostate biopsy system is a low field MRI that guides procedures for better targeting. My main contribution is to research on treatment modalities such as cryoablation, IRE, laser, and HIFU, and implement using the Promaxo MRI.
Projects
I had been developing novel devices and methods for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at Bilkent University (Ankara, Turkey). Immediately after completing PhD, I started post-doctoral fellowship at Sunnybrook Research Institute (SRI), University of Toronto (Toronto, Canada). I led a multidisciplinary team in a preclinical project to develop non-contrast enhanced MRI methods for characterization of radiofrequency ablation lesions and explain MR contrast mechanism of these lesions. I have also been working on machine learning and deep learning projects related to clinical trial data and medical imaging. We applied statistical methods to understand the insight of the clinical trial results. In another project, we have been developing a smart computer aided diagnostic (CAD) system. Machine learning algorithms will be applied to the eye-tracking data to understand the complex search algorithms of the expert radiologists.
